On October 23, information from the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward ( Quang Ninh ) said that the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward have just reviewed and disciplined 9 officials and teachers of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School (Ha Lam Ward) related to the case of correcting scores in the electronic transcript for the child of a ward official.

According to the verification results of the authorities, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Board of Directors and some teachers of the school intervened and changed the test scores and exam scores of a female student, the child of a ward official, on the electronic transcript system. The above violation of regulations helped many subjects of this student "jump" to excellent, distorting the year-end assessment results.

Based on the inspection results, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward have disciplined 9 individuals who are officials and teachers of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School. Among them, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Lan was removed from the position of school principal and demoted to an employee; 5 teachers were warned and 3 teachers were reprimanded.

Previously, Thanh Nien reporters received a complaint from parents and teachers of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School about the school's staff and teachers changing the scores of the child of a Ha Lam ward official so that the child would become an excellent student.

In particular, the female student's score on the report card system changed abnormally. Text messages believed to be internal instructions from school leaders requesting to "correct scores" in math, natural science , computer science and English were provided to the authorities.

Notably, according to the parents' feedback, the female student's original score in IT and English subjects was only 4, but after being corrected, it became 8, enough to qualify for the title of excellent student.

Speaking with Thanh Nien reporters, leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province assessed that the behavior of the staff and teachers at Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School had violated management and professional ethics at the school.

The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province also said that after the test results were available, the locality requested the authorities to correct the real scores of the above-mentioned student in the electronic transcript; and revoke the female student's certificate of merit for being an excellent student in the previous school year.
