As of 7:00 a.m. on October 13, 9,974 customers still had no electricity due to flooding. The most severely affected areas were Soc Son, Trung Gia, and Da Phuc communes, with nearly 9,054 households having to temporarily stop having electricity due to the slow receding water level of the Cau River.

Soc Son Power Company's forces are still on duty 24/24 hours, ready to restore power as soon as the water recedes and safety conditions are ensured. In addition, in Thu Lam and Phuc Thinh communes under the management of Dong Anh Power Company, about 909 customers have not had their power restored because the area is still partially flooded.

EVNHANOI recommends that people proactively check the electrical system when the water recedes, specifically:

Check the entire electrical system in the house: Water seepage can cause damage, short circuits, and potential safety risks.

Carefully observe the power cord and outlet: If you detect any abnormal signs such as scorching, electrical leakage or a wet outlet, stop using it and replace it immediately.

Do not turn electrical appliances (TV, refrigerator, fan, washing machine...) back on without checking or completely drying them.

For underground electrical wiring systems or areas with electrical cables that have been flooded: Contact a professional for a comprehensive inspection and assessment before use.

Only turn the power back on when you are sure that the equipment, wires, sockets, circuit breakers, etc. are completely dry and undamaged.

In addition, for public areas, offices, schools, and industrial parks, EVNHANOI recommends that management units carefully check electrical cabinets, transformer stations, pumps, and lighting systems before re-energizing, and place warning signs in wet areas or areas at risk of re-flooding.

Electrical safety after flooding is a top priority to protect people's lives and property. EVNHANOI recommends that people strictly follow electrical safety measures to protect their families and communities.
