Bac Ninh Electricity Company recommends safety when turning on electricity after floods

DNVN - Bac Ninh Electricity Company has issued some recommendations on ensuring safety when turning on electricity after floods.

The circulation of storm No. 11 (Matmo) caused heavy rain and high floods on rivers in Bac Ninh province. The functional forces actively coordinated with localities in the province to focus on overcoming damage, ensuring the safety of residents, the dike system and key projects.

Along with emergency rescue operations, authorities have stepped up propaganda on measures to respond to and overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Accordingly, after the storm and flood, when the Electricity unit restores power, people should check the electrical system after the meter:

Make sure wires, sockets, circuit breakers, and electrical equipment are dry, free of leaks or cracks.

Do not touch electrical wires, sockets, or equipment with bare hands unless you are sure they are safe.

If the line or equipment has been flooded, it must be removed, dried, or replaced before use.

Turn off all circuit breakers in the house, only close them after checking carefully.

If you detect an electrical leak, smoke, sparks or a burning smell, immediately disconnect the power and notify the nearest Electricity Company for assistance.

Bac Ninh Electricity recommends that people do not arbitrarily make temporary connections or use bare wires or damp sockets to avoid the risk of electric shock and fire.
