Currently, the flood on the Cau River downstream continues to rise; the water level at 5 p.m. on October 8 on the Cau River at Cha was 11.47 m, at some locations the flood level was close to the Ha Chau dike surface. To ensure the safety of the dike against floods, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province to urgently mobilize all forces, materials, means, and emergency equipment to prevent the Ha Chau dike from overflowing at locations at risk of overflow, and prevent floodwater from overflowing the dike toward the fields.
The province reviews the reserve materials for flood and storm prevention and dyke protection to promptly mobilize and handle dyke incidents when they occur. At the same time, it regularly inspects, urges, patrols and guards the dyke line, promptly detects and handles incidents and situations that may occur from the first hour.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests that Thai Nguyen province promptly report incidents and situations to the Ministry (through the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control).
