Here, comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh visited and shared the difficulties and losses of the people caused by the floods; at the same time, presented gifts from the province including: 100 cartons of fresh milk, 100 cartons of purified water, 100 gifts and 10 million VND in cash to the Fatherland Front Committee of Van Ha ward to deliver to the people in the isolated flood area.

It is known that from October 7th until now, the rising flood of Cau River has caused a lot of damage to property, constructions, agricultural production and daily life in Van Ha ward. According to statistics of the ward's Civil Defense Command, there is currently 1 house collapsed; floodwaters caused landslides of 26m of traffic road, 43m of canal, landslides of 50m of provincial road 398B (Ha Bac 2 bridge section); rising water has isolated some traffic routes of Ha Lat residential group.
The floods also damaged nearly 30 hectares of rice, crops, and aquatic products in the two residential groups of Thuong Lat and Ha Lat, affecting productivity.
As of 1 p.m. on October 9, more than 2,200 households and nearly 8,500 people in the residential areas of Tho Ha, Yen Vien, and Thuong Lat were flooded, without electricity, without water, and completely isolated.

In response to the flood situation, the Ward Civil Defense Command assigned members to directly inspect the area of each residential group in charge to grasp the situation in 33/33 residential groups; inspect and review schools, pumping stations, medical stations and aquaculture areas, agricultural production areas for direction. Conduct a review of all households in the area at risk of landslides and flooding, directly propagate, mobilize and support households to evacuate to safe places when necessary.
By 1 p.m. on October 9, the entire ward had evacuated 750 people, mainly the elderly, students, and workers in industrial parks, from areas at risk of being isolated to a safe place.
All livestock and poultry were transported to high places by the people and taken to other places for raising and care.
The Ward Civil Defense Command also directed the clearing of broken electric poles and the installation of warning signs on eroded roads and dykes to facilitate traffic and travel for people.
Along with overcoming the consequences of the flood, the Ward Civil Defense Command also coordinated with departments, branches, organizations, sponsors, and philanthropists to give gifts and provide all kinds of necessities and food for daily life for people in isolated areas.
Also on the same day, comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh and the working delegation inspected the entire dike system and flood situation in Van Ha ward.
According to the report of Van Ha ward leaders, the whole ward currently has approximately 20 km of Dai Ha and Boi dykes. The rising water level completely flooded the entire Boi Van Ha dike to Tien Son and the left dike from Km 44+750 to Km 45+250 overflowed, leading to flooding of about 0.7 m deep in Thuong Lat residential group.
Currently, the flood level on the river has receded, however, to ensure the safety of the dike system, irrigation works, people's lives and property, the Ward Civil Defense Command continues to direct departments, branches, organizations and residential groups to proactively implement plans when bad situations occur. Deploy and organize the implementation of the instructions of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Civil Defense Command according to the contents of issued documents. Direct members of the Ward Civil Defense Command, the Residential Group Command, the shock forces, the ward police, the military , to organize 24/24 duty, deploy response plans when necessary. Direct to continue reviewing and assessing the safety level of people's housing after floods, especially level 4 houses, old houses built a long time ago; develop plans and measures to ensure safe housing for people according to regulations, absolutely not letting people live in unsafe places.
Comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh praised the proactiveness, efforts and efforts of the Ward Civil Defense Command in responding to floods, contributing to ensuring the safety of people's lives and property, limiting damage to schools, medical stations, facilities and culture. Note that the flood situation may last for a long time, so the important task in the coming time for the Ward Civil Defense Command is to ensure adequate necessities, food and provisions; provide scientific support according to each type, prioritizing necessities such as drinking water, medicine, disinfectants... so that no people in isolated flood areas go hungry, and at the same time have measures to ensure the safety of organizations, individuals and relief teams.
Along with that, the locality needs to have a plan to ensure communication for the people. Closely coordinate with military, police, health, education and electricity units to support general cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of the environment, bring students back to school soon, and restore electricity after the floodwaters recede.
