Provincial business community: Confident in integration, pioneering innovation

In the flow of innovation and integration, the province's business community and enterprises have gradually affirmed their mettle, intelligence and strong aspirations to rise. Entering a new stage of development, the business community and enterprises continue to play a pioneering role in production and business activities, spreading the spirit of social responsibility, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the province in the new stage.

Despite being significantly affected by fluctuations in the world and domestic economy , declining market demand, increasing input costs, labor shortages, etc., most enterprises still maintain stable production and adapt flexibly to the new context. Many green, sustainable production enterprises and value chain linkages have been formed, especially in the fields of agricultural processing, tourism, trade and services, etc. Some enterprises innovate technology, apply digital transformation, expand domestic and export markets, and make good use of support policies.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tuong Nam - Standing member of the Provincial Business Association, the business community of the province in general still affirms its strong resilience and admirable adaptability. In particular, the resilience from the spirit of solidarity and internal strength of enterprises, is the spirit of overcoming difficulties and solidarity of entrepreneurs. Enterprises are not alone but have linked together through business associations, professional clubs, business cafes, and trade connection programs. From there, a network of mutual support in information, market, technology and human resources is formed.

“Many enterprises have proactively innovated production lines, invested in technology, applied digital transformation and built brands in a green-clean-sustainable direction. Advanced production in the fields of agricultural processing, eco -tourism , and e-commerce is showing positive results. Some enterprises have turned challenges into opportunities to expand export markets to Japan, Korea, Europe, etc., affirming the competitiveness of Vinh Long products in the international market. At the same time, paying attention to applying international standards, the business community has actively participated in social security activities spreading in products and services, building brands close to consumers,” Mr. Nam assessed.

However, reality also shows that many enterprises - especially small enterprises - do not have enough resources to invest in technological innovation, have limited access to credit capital and lack high-quality human resources, and do not pay attention to the value chain, so they are at risk of reducing competitiveness and narrowing the market and market share. The process of challenging and screening enterprises is taking place more strongly, requiring enterprises to change their thinking and take advantage of internal and external resources.

To accompany and support businesses, Mr. Truong Dang Vinh Phuc - Director of the Department of Finance said that every month, "Business Coffee" and a business dialogue program are organized to listen to and promptly resolve difficulties and problems arising in the process of investing and operating projects. This is one of the important activities to improve the business investment environment, develop the private economy and enhance the competitiveness of the economy.

Along with that, the financial sector will propose solutions and policies to encourage small and medium enterprises to participate strongly in the global supply chain, develop products with high added value and expand export markets. Support the formation of industry clusters, connect small enterprises with large enterprises and FDI enterprises. Thereby, they can both learn management experience and participate more deeply in value chains, thereby increasing growth rate and expanding production and business scale.

Strategic development orientation

According to the Department of Finance, the province has 12,134 operating enterprises (of which 1,495 are in the agricultural sector) with a total registered capital of about 196,346 billion VND. Of which, small and medium-sized enterprises account for over 98% with a total registered capital of more than 79,972 billion VND. This is the core force, playing an important role in the development of the province's private economy, contributing to creating jobs for about 293,821 workers.

According to the Provincial Business Association, the province's enterprises are entering a new period of development transition, requiring them to improve their competitiveness and be more closely linked to the province's socio-economic development strategy in the spirit of sustainable, harmonious, inclusive and innovative development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Thu - Director of PuTin Animal Feed Company Limited, with the spirit of patriotism, social responsibility and aspiration to rise, the young business community of Vinh Long is constantly innovating and rising. Many young enterprises not only focus on business development but also actively participate in social security activities, environmental protection, and accompany young entrepreneurs.

“Entering a new phase, we focus on building a community of young entrepreneurs who are united, courageous, knowledgeable and have business ethics, promoting the spirit of creative entrepreneurship, creating conditions for local youth start-up projects to connect with capital, technology and markets. In particular, we will strengthen cooperation with provincial young entrepreneur associations, institutes, schools and business support organizations, helping members expand their learning opportunities and reach out to larger markets. Promoting the spirit of young entrepreneurs to create a common driving force for development,” Mr. Thu expressed his expectations.

In the context of the country entering a new era, the business community in the province needs to clearly demonstrate maturity, mettle and aspiration to contribute to the homeland.

To fully promote the role of entrepreneurs and enterprises, according to Mr. Nguyen Tuong Nam, enterprises need to orient their development, improve their internal capacity and digitally transform. Greening production, developing a circular economy, reducing emissions, in line with the province's sustainable development orientation and the national strategy on green growth.

At the same time, link businesses, expand markets, take advantage of the central location of the region to expand cooperation, investment, export and develop tourism and services. Invest in developing quality and creative human resources, develop products and services, business methods and develop markets that adapt to the new context.

“The good news is that many entrepreneurs have a deep awareness of green growth and sustainable development, shifting to clean production, saving energy, reducing emissions, and using environmentally friendly materials. This is not only a trend, but also demonstrates the social responsibility of enterprises. In the development stages of the province, entrepreneurs and enterprises have always been the pioneering force, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, making an important contribution to local socio-economic development,” said Mr. Nam.
