The President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation was absent from the urgent online meeting on September 4.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) held an urgent online meeting at 4:30 p.m. on September 4, following the direction of the Vietnam Sports Administration to clarify the reason for the prolonged absence of Mr. Luu Tu Bao, President of VBF (member of the VBF Standing Committee), from the end of February 2025 until now.

Prolonged absence of VBF President

Mr. Liu Xiu Bao went abroad — specifically to the US — since the end of February 2025 to take care of family matters. However, he has not returned to Vietnam since then. A month before the meeting, in a conversation with the Vice President and General Secretary of VBF, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Mr. Liu Xiu Bao said he was busy with work in the US and asked the VBF Standing Committee to manage VBF's work.

The meeting was urgently convened on September 4 to request Mr. Liu Xiu Bao to report the reason for his absence over the past several months, and to discuss plans for the management and implementation of VBF's work in the coming time.

However, Mr. Luu Tu Bao was not present at this online meeting. It is known that the Vietnam Sports Administration has requested the VBF Executive Committee to manage the general work during Mr. Bao's absence, to ensure that VBF's activities remain stable.
