Vietnamese Boxing speaks out about Mr. Liu Xiu Bao, may hold extraordinary congress

(Dan Tri) - Regarding the incident of the President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) being out of contact for many months, tonight (September 5), the VBF side made an official announcement.

On the afternoon of September 5, VBF held an Executive Committee (EC) meeting. After this meeting, the Vietnam Boxing Federation made an official announcement regarding the absence of the VBF President for the past several months.

VBF said: “Mr. Liu Xiu Bao has been absent from Vietnam for more than half a year, not directly managing the activities of the Federation, which has caused a stir in public opinion and the appearance of unofficial information about Mr. Liu Xiu Bao's involvement with international criminal organizations.

Therefore, the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of VBF brought this issue to the conference and concluded as follows: Mr. Liu Xiu Bao went to the US for family matters since February and had to deal with some personal matters, so he is temporarily unable to return to Vietnam.

“Mr. Luu Tu Bao will sign the authorization to manage VBF activities for Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice President (PC) and General Secretary (GSC) of VBF in accordance with the provisions of the VBF's Charter of Operations approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs .

During the time when the authorization letter from the President has not been received, the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of VBF unanimously authorize Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung to manage VBF. VBF is responsible for ensuring the organization of competitions for provincial, municipal and industry units in the national competition system, ensuring the establishment and international competition of the Vietnamese team," the VBF announcement added.

Previously, VBF President Luu Tu Bao left Vietnam and returned to the US due to family matters in February. After this period of time, VBF members lost contact with the head of this organization.

Recently, some information has appeared in the international media, related to Mr. Liu Xiubao, including information that is unfavorable to Mr. Liu Xiubao personally. However, up to now, there has been no official announcement from the authorities regarding Mr. Liu Xiubao's activities.

VBF also expressed its views on the above issue. VBF said: “The Standing Committee and Executive Committee of VBF agree that in the case of VBF President Luu Tu Bao personally, if there is an official conclusion from domestic and international authorities about the violation of the law, the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of VBF will organize a conference to request permission to hold an extraordinary congress to elect a new President.

Ensure the smooth direction and implementation of all VBF activities in accordance with legal regulations and still ensure VBF's operating funding until the end of the second term (2023-2028)".

VBF also commits to running all activities of Vietnam Boxing smoothly, in accordance with the principles, purposes and operating regulations of VBF in the coming days.
