Reviewing the remarkable progress of our country after nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation policy, the President assessed that these were great achievements of historical significance; Vietnam, from a country that had just emerged from war, a poor and backward country, surrounded by embargoes, has now acquired a very high foundation, potential, position and international prestige; at the same time, emphasizing that the results achieved were the efforts of the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, including the important contribution of the Diplomatic sector.

In the context of the world situation still evolving in a complex and unpredictable manner, with many favorable opportunities but also many difficulties and challenges, the President affirmed that Vietnam is steadfastly moving towards two 100-year goals and to achieve that, the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat have made important decisions that have been supported by the entire Party, people and army.

The President said that with its "important and regular" role, the Vietnamese diplomatic sector has the important task of contributing to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development in the new period, thereby bringing the country into an era of prosperous development.

The President requested that the newly appointed comrades continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025 of the Politburo on international integration in the new situation.

The President requested the diplomatic sector in general and the comrades who have been awarded titles and appointed in particular to do a good job of researching, advising, and forecasting strategies early and from afar, and to promptly propose to the Party and State major and important decisions and policies for the relationship between Vietnam and its partners.

Noting that diplomacy also serves economic development, making practical contributions to realizing the country's development goals by 2030 and 2045, the President suggested that the comrades who have been awarded titles and appointed should give due priority to promoting, seeking and connecting cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, science, technology, education, training and health.

The President stressed that diplomats must be messengers spreading the image of an independent, self-reliant, peaceful, friendly and developed Vietnam. In addition, Ambassadors must do a good job of protecting citizens and Vietnamese people abroad, being a reliable support for the community of nearly 6 million Vietnamese people abroad; and promoting the human, intellectual and financial resources of overseas Vietnamese for the development of the country.

The President requested that comrade Ambassadors take the lead, set an example, be responsible, and pay attention to strengthening internal solidarity in both domestic agencies and units as well as representative agencies abroad; do well the Party work, internal political protection work, and focus on training and developing the staff in agencies, units, and representative agencies.
