President Luong Cuong hosted a state reception for the President of South Africa.

On the evening of October 23, at the International Convention Center, President Luong Cuong hosted a solemn reception for South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa and a high-ranking South African delegation who were on a State visit to Vietnam.

Warmly welcoming President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa and the high-ranking South African delegation, President Luong Cuong emphasized that the President's visit brought to Vietnam sincere, warm feelings, friendship and solidarity.

Recalling the more than 30 years of Vietnam-South Africa diplomatic relations with the sincere, cordial and trustful friendship that the two countries and peoples have for each other, the President affirmed that Vietnam and South Africa have overcome all difficulties and challenges, rising to become dynamic economies with increasingly important roles in each region and in the world.

The President believes that President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa's return to Vietnam this time as Head of State of South Africa will open a new, brighter and more brilliant period in the good relations between the two countries; at the same time, he hopes that in the new era of development of the Vietnamese nation, there will always be valuable support and cooperation from the sincere friend and reliable partner South Africa, and Vietnam is always ready to accompany South Africa on the path of development and prosperity.

In his response, South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa once again thanked the Vietnamese State and people for their warm welcome to the delegation; sent warm congratulations to Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, assessing this as a milestone demonstrating the spirit of independence, resilience and will to rise of the Vietnamese people.

President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa stressed that the South Africa-Vietnam relationship was built on the foundation of history and solidarity in the struggle for independence, when the South African people found inspiration in Vietnam's steadfast spirit for freedom and justice.

The South African leader affirmed that the two countries have many strengths that can complement each other, opening up great potential for cooperation in many fields as both countries are influential countries in the region, sharing the responsibility of promoting global dialogue and cooperation.

Emphasizing his commitment to taking bilateral relations to new heights, President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa expressed his belief that the South Africa-Vietnam friendship will continue to be strong, bringing common prosperity to the people of the two countries.
