On the morning of August 11, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and a number of relevant departments and branches inspected the work of reinforcing and repairing landslides on the Cam Nhuong sea embankment (Cam Xuyen).

Also attending were Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of Cam Xuyen district.

Cam Nhuong sea embankment continues to erode in many places, local authorities must mobilize forces to reinforce.

Cam Nhuong sea dike was built in 2003 with a length of more than 1.2km. The dike plays a role in breaking waves and protecting the lives of about 1,200 households with over 5,000 people in the villages of Phuc Hai, Xuan Bac, Xuan Nam, Hai Bac, Hai Nam and Chua village in Cam Nhuong commune.

After decades of being affected and withstanding the pressure of high tides, natural disasters, storms and floods, the project has now degraded and continuously experienced damage, subsidence, and serious breakage of concrete structures, not being able to withstand strong storms and floods...

Local authorities mobilized forces to reinforce landslides on Cam Nhuong sea embankment.

Before the approaching storm season, the People's Committee of Cam Xuyen district mobilized forces: police, border guards, militia, local people... to deploy reinforcement work and overcome some landslides on the Cam Nhuong sea embankment.

Through the actual inspection, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai encouraged the forces participating in the work of reinforcing and repairing landslides on the Cam Nhuong sea embankment; at the same time, requested the local authorities to determine the volume of damage, concentrate vehicles and forces to reinforce and repair immediately the heavily eroded sections to ensure safety for the people during this year's rainy and stormy season.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai also informed that the Provincial People's Committee has issued Decision No. 1533/QD-UBND approving the Economic - Technical Report on the construction investment of the Cam Nhuong sea dike treatment and repair project with a total investment of more than 13.1 billion VND. The project implementation period is 2023, with the People's Committee of Cam Xuyen district as the investor. The scale of the project is to repair a part of the Cam Nhuong sea dike roof with a total length of 1,148m.

While waiting for the project to be implemented, Cam Xuyen district needs to reinforce and promptly fix landslides to protect people's lives and property as the rainy and stormy season is approaching.
