Full Moon Festival 2025 - Colorful, full of joy

(laichau.gov.vn) Tonight (October 5), at Hoang Dieu walking street, Tan Phong ward, the Final, Awarding and Closing Night of the 2025 Doan Ket - Tan Phong Inter-ward Full Moon Festival ended in a joyful and bustling atmosphere. Thousands of people and tourists immersed themselves in the sparkling, colorful space of the loving full moon season.

In his closing speech at the Festival, Mr. Le Xuan Dung - Vice Chairman of Tan Phong Ward People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee affirmed: This year, the program has many innovations in scale, form and quality, creating a Mid-Autumn Festival imbued with Lai Chau's identity. The Festival is not only a healthy and useful playground for children but also an opportunity to honor the creative spirit of the community, arousing pride and awareness of preserving national cultural traditions.

From October 4-5 (ie August 13-14 of the lunar calendar), the Festival attracted nearly 20 Mid-Autumn lantern models from residential groups to participate in the competition, of which 14 excellent models were selected for the Final round. The models were elaborately invested, demonstrating ingenuity, rich imagination and love for the homeland through meaningful themes: From the image of the Iron Horse of Saint Giong, to the mascots of the Crane riding a dragon, the Buffalo plowing our fields, the Golden Horse flying up..., to models associated with modern life, reflecting the aspiration to build the homeland of Lai Chau more and more prosperous.

The performance of the Golden Dragon model reaching out won the A prize at the Closing Night.

As a result, the model of Crane riding a dragon of residential group 11, Doan Ket ward and the model of Golden Dragon rising up of the Provincial General Hospital won the A prize, conquering the judges and the audience with their creativity, exquisite aesthetics and profound educational value.

In addition, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 prizes to typical models, including 2 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 3 promising prizes to recognize the efforts, enthusiasm and solidarity of the people of the two wards.

Lion dance, dragon dance and clown dance are indispensable in every Full Moon Festival.

In addition to the model competition, cultural and artistic activities within the framework of the Festival Night were also rich and attractive. The performances by the children themselves brought a fresh and joyful atmosphere, brightening up the entire walking street. In particular, the Organizing Committee awarded 28 gifts to poor students who overcame difficulties, showing the affection and care of the Party Committee, government and community for children in special circumstances, helping them gain more confidence, nurture their dreams and will to rise up.

This year’s festival was considered a success in terms of scale, organization, participation of the people and the ripple effect in the community. Thousands of people and tourists joined the crowd to admire the giant, colorful lantern models parading through the streets, creating a vibrant, sparkling and emotional Mid-Autumn Festival picture.

Closing the Festival Night, in the shimmering light of hundreds of colorful lanterns, joy still shone on the children's faces. The sound of lion dance drums, laughter, mixed with the music of the reunion season of the full moon.
