Prioritize infrastructure investment
Tu Mo Rong is a district 30a, with more than 95% of the population being ethnic minorities. The district has a large and fragmented area, the economic and social infrastructure, although invested, has not met the development requirements, some particularly difficult villages and hamlets have not been invested in hardening the roads; some suspension bridges have degraded but have not been invested in upgrading or repairing.
Therefore, the district determined that investment resources from the National Target Program 1719 will contribute to completing infrastructure in villages and hamlets, promoting local socio-economic development.
Implementing Sub-project 1, Project 4, under the National Target Program 1719, from 2022 to present, with a capital of more than 129 billion VND, Tu Mo Rong district has invested in building and renovating 28 rural traffic works to serve production, business and people's lives; 6 small irrigation works; 11 power supply works; 1 market project; maintaining 82 works in 11 communes; building 11 accommodation works for semi-boarding and boarding students...
Walking on the newly completed and put into use concrete road of more than 500m long, Mr. A Hong, Village Chief of Kon Hia 2 Village, Dak Ro Ong Commune, Tu Mo Rong District, excitedly said: This road leads to the main production area of the villagers in the village. Along with infrastructure investment, Tu Mo Rong district has promptly implemented projects under the National Target Program 1719. Mr. A H'Bau, Mang Lo village, Dak Ro Ong commune, Tu Mo Rong district shared: Previously, my family was a poor household so we did not have the conditions to build a solid house. In 2023, the commune supported 44 million VND, the family borrowed an additional 50 million VND to build a house of more than 50 square meters. The timely implementation of the National Target Program 1719 and ethnic policies in recent times has clearly changed the lives of ethnic minorities in Tu Mo Rong district. The average income per capita and people's lives have gradually improved. The poverty rate in ethnic minority areas has decreased from 10.7-11.05%/year, exceeding the planned target (6-8%/year).
