The 8th Central Party Congress of the Public Security took place from October 3-5.

Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chief of the Office of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Chief of the Ministry Office, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security chaired the press conference.

Attending the press conference were representatives of the leaders of the Internal Political Security Department, the Personnel Organization Department, the Political Work Department, the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Public Security, the People's Public Security Communications Department, the Hanoi City Police Department, and a team of reporters from press agencies inside and outside the police force.

At the press conference, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan said: Up to this point, the Politburo has given its opinions on the preparations for the congress; assessed and acknowledged the careful and serious preparations of the Central Public Security Party Committee. The Politburo has agreed to organize the 8th Central Public Security Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

The 8th Congress of the Central Public Security Party Committee will take place over 3 days, from the afternoon of October 3 to 5, at the conference hall of the Ministry of Public Security headquarters (96 Nguyen Du, Cua Nam ward, Hanoi city), with the participation of 350 delegates (24 ex-officio delegates and 326 delegates elected from the congresses of party committees under the Central Public Security Party Committee).

With the motto: "Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Responsibility-Breakthrough-Efficiency", the Congress demonstrates the aspiration and responsibility of the Central Public Security Party Committee to continue promoting the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing of the heroic People's Public Security force, firmly protecting national security, creating positive changes in social order, participating in national development, contributing to building a rich and powerful country.

With the Congress theme: "Following Uncle Ho's teachings - Renewing thinking - Improving knowledge - Being disciplined, modern - For the Party, for the people", the Congress has the task of reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 7th Central Party Congress of the Public Security, term 2020-2025; deciding on the direction, goals and tasks of the Party Committee for the term 2025-2030; reviewing the leadership and direction of the Central Party Committee of the Public Security for the term 2020-2025; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress and electing the Public Security Party Delegation to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

Sharing about the new points in the work of building congress documents and organizing the congress, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan said: The 8th Congress of the Central Public Security Party Committee, term 2025-2030 takes place at a time of special importance, the country is on the threshold of a new era of development, the Central Public Security Party Committee determined that this is a "renovation" congress; comprehensively demonstrated in all aspects, especially the work of building documents and organizing the congress.

In the work of drafting documents, the Central Party Committee of the Public Security strongly innovated the thinking, approach and way of presenting documents in a concise and easy-to-understand direction, ensuring action and combat, reducing qualitative and increasing quantitative; directions, goals, tasks and solutions were built specifically and in detail, ensuring directions and targets go hand in hand with tasks and solutions; the action program clearly defined tasks, presiding and coordinating agencies, implementation progress time, completion, specific products and immediate implementation.

In the organization, the congress implemented digital transformation with the method of checking delegates' names using digital technology of facial recognition "Face ID", biometric identification for delegates, reporters, and service staff before entering the hall; using paperless meeting rooms, integrating the content of draft documents and documents serving the congress on the delegates' tablets, ensuring confidentiality and safety according to regulations; the discussion report has new points combining many forms of digital technology during the implementation process.
