Awarding 2 prizes in drawing contest, learning about the harmful effects of cigarettes and e-cigarettes

On October 5, at Le Loi Secondary School (Ha Dong, Hanoi), the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund in collaboration with the Youth Research Institute organized a summary and award ceremony for the Painting Contest to propagate the harmful effects of tobacco and the Contest to learn about the harmful effects of tobacco and e-cigarettes for children nationwide, 2025.

This is an activity within Coordination program between the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Health on protecting, caring for and improving the health of Vietnamese youth and children; Coordination program between the Youth Research Institute and the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund, Ministry of Health for the period 2024-2025 on organizing communication activities on preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco among children.

The two competitions were held from March to June 2025. After 3 months of launching and implementing with a spirit of enthusiastic, active, innovative and creative competition, the activities were widely deployed, attracting the attention and participation of children in many provinces and cities across the country.

The 2025 contest "Learning about the harmful effects of tobacco and e-cigarettes" received positive responses from a large number of children participating with 97,759 entries from 33 provinces and cities implementing the contest at the grassroots level.

Most of the test papers showed that children had a clear understanding of the harmful effects of tobacco and e-cigarettes. Many essays were presented carefully and creatively, many students presented strong messages and specific solutions to promote in the community, which were very rich and diverse, in accordance with the content and requirements set by the Organizing Committee.

The 2025 poster drawing contest on the harmful effects of tobacco with the theme “For a green life - say no to tobacco” received 102,739 entries. Through the works, the students expressed creative and unique ideas sending meaningful messages from short but easy-to-understand, easy-to-remember, on-topic propaganda content on preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco.

The paintings were carefully prepared and invested in, with a variety of genres and materials such as: colored powder, pastels, markers, crayons, pencils, collage, watercolors... In addition to paintings about tobacco harm prevention, the children also presented clear, concise and targeted propaganda messages about tobacco harm prevention, bringing many emotions to viewers.

Through the judging rounds, the Jury and Organizing Committee decided to select 15 groups and 15 individuals to award prizes for the painting contest to propagate the harmful effects of tobacco with the theme "For a green life - say no to tobacco".

The Organizing Committee also awarded prizes for the contest "Learning about the harmful effects of tobacco and electronic cigarettes" to 15 groups and 15 individuals. These are the most outstanding and highest quality works in the contest, fully demonstrating the understanding, knowledge, skills, perspectives, creativity and artistic talent of children about the harmful effects of tobacco and the current work of preventing the harmful effects of tobacco; at the same time, expressing the children's desire to contribute more to the work of preventing the harmful effects of tobacco, building an increasingly "Safe - Healthy - Smoke-free" living environment.
