(CLO) On October 24, the Center for Research and Technology Application of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in collaboration with the Northwest Regional Office organized a training course on podcast making skills for reporters, editors, and technicians. Also attending the training course were reporters and editors from Son La Provincial Radio and Television Station, Son La Newspaper, etc.
At the training session, Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of VOV, shared about the goal of becoming the leading podcast producer of Voice of Vietnam.
According to Mr. Pham Manh Hung, with the rapid development of technology, the number of people listening to audio content globally, including the Vietnamese market, is increasing, but the needs of listeners are also changing from passive to active.

Nowadays, there is no longer a monopoly on the press, opportunities are shared equally among all, and even independent content producers can completely attract a large audience thanks to social media platforms and cheap equipment.
Changes in listener listening behavior combined with a highly competitive market have created a huge challenge for the radio industry, with platforms such as AM, FM, and even the internet simply unable to satisfy modern listeners.
“The emergence and rapid development of podcasts in the digital age is an opportunity to reach the radio audience through the smart mobile devices they are using. With the foundation of the Voice of Vietnam and its existing advantages, turning this ambition into reality is completely feasible,” Mr. Pham Manh Hung shared.

Through the efforts in the podcast race, Mr. Pham Manh Hung believes that VOV will reap three benefits, including: optimizing the production capacity of the team of reporters, editors, and technicians for not only Vietnamese programs, but also foreign languages and ethnic minority languages; staying in line with global trends and promoting VOV's core advantages as an agency specializing in broadcasting in the context of digital transformation.
