Proposal to invest nearly 9 trillion VND to build Dau Giay Expressway

Accordingly, the project has a total length of 60.24km. The starting point coincides with the end point of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province. The end point passes the intersection with National Highway 20 (at about Km69 + 400 - QL20) about 200m, located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province.

Based on transportation needs and the ability to balance resources, Thang Long Project Management Board proposed to divide the investment into phase 1 with a scale of 4 limited lanes (each lane is 3.5m wide), roadbed width of 17m, with a median strip, an emergency stop every 4-5km, speed limit of 80km/h.

The completed phase will widen the roadbed and add an emergency lane, increasing the speed limit to 100km/h.

The route of Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway is determined according to the Prime Minister 's approval in Decision 1045/2022.

The project has a total investment of over VND8,776 billion, of which construction costs are over VND5,000 billion, site clearance is over VND1,294 billion, the rest is equipment costs, project management costs, loan interest costs and other costs. The project payback period is about 27 years.

Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway is the first section of the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong - Da Lat Expressway with a total length of 208km and a scale of 4 lanes, located in the planning of the development of Vietnam's expressway network. Currently, the section from Prenn Pass to Da Lat city, about 19km, has been completed.

Recently, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the agency to prepare a pre-feasibility study report for component projects according to the sections: Dau Giay - Tan Phu, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong for investment in the period 2021-2025.

The completion of the project is of special importance in connecting the Southeast provinces with the Central Highlands, especially Dong Nai with Lam Dong province when National Highway 20 is overloaded. The investment and construction of the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway is currently necessary and urgent.
