Vietnam Team: Quang Hai missed the appointment again, Coach Kim Sang Sik did not call a replacement

Quang Hai missed two matches of Vietnam national team against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers due to injury. Coach Kim Sang Sik did not call a replacement.

According to information from the Vietnam team, on October 3, Quang Hai was taken for an MRI scan to re-evaluate the extent of the injury to his right shoulder joint. The results showed that this midfielder needs more time to rest and fully recover.

Respecting the medical team's instructions, head coach Kim Sang Sik decided not to call Quang Hai up to the Vietnam national team during the FIFA Days training session in October 2025 to prepare for the two matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Quang Hai will be absent from the upcoming training session of the Vietnamese national team due to injury.

Notably, coach Kim Sang Sik decided not to call up additional players to replace Quang Hai and finalized the number of Vietnamese players at 23, exactly the number registered to play officially.

This is the second consecutive time Quang Hai has been absent from the Vietnam national team, as he did not participate in the September training session. This injury also prevented him from participating in three important international matches of the Hanoi Police Club in the AFC Champions League Two and the 2025/26 Southeast Asian Club Championship.

The Vietnamese team will gather today (October 4) in Ho Chi Minh City. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team have 5 days to prepare before the first leg against Nepal at 7:30 p.m. on October 9 at Go Dau Stadium ( Binh Duong ). The second leg will take place at 7:30 p.m. on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).
