Innovation spreads throughout the industry

Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training , the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien province attended the online conference to deploy the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation" and "Digital education for all". Immediately after the conference, the Department developed a specific plan to launch and organize the implementation of the emulation movement in the whole industry for the period 2025 - 2030, towards the goal of comprehensive transformation in management, teaching and learning.

The movement is considered a driving force for the local education sector to make a breakthrough, meeting the requirements of the digital transformation period. Based on Plan No. 1518/KH-SGDĐT issued on June 22, 2023, school units simultaneously deployed digital governance models, applying technology to all activities. 100% of educational institutions from primary to high school have completed digital governance models, digital operations, standardized digital data, ensuring consistency, transparency and synchronous connection throughout the system.

At the same time, the Department of Education and Training directed the implementation of the Government 's Project 06 in the education sector, ensuring progress, quality and practicality. From building industry databases, connecting with provincial and national public service portals, to implementing cashless payments in schools, all were seriously implemented, reaching a rate of 100% in the 2024-2025 school year.

Application of technology in management and teaching

Digital transformation in Dien Bien is being implemented comprehensively from management agencies to educational institutions. Software systems supporting school management, electronic records, and electronic primary school transcripts are widely used. The Department of Education and Training also encourages schools to exploit and apply artificial intelligence in management, teaching and assessment, thereby contributing to improving teaching and learning efficiency and reducing administrative work for teachers.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Department successfully organized 3 intensive training courses on "Application of new generation artificial intelligence" for 100% of core staff, managers and teachers. After the training, most teachers have mastered the skills of exploiting AI tools, effectively serving professional work.

In particular, the "AI Festival" event held in Dien Bien made a strong impression. The Department of Education and Training advised on implementing a series of exciting activities such as opening the STEAM Hub Technology Library at the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, guiding teachers to present excellent GenAI application projects, organizing a Robotics Friendly Tournament and introducing AI technology booths to serve students' experiences. The event spread the spirit of innovation, arousing the excitement of learning and creativity throughout the industry.

Investing in infrastructure and ensuring digital security

Along with innovating teaching and learning methods, Dien Bien education sector focuses on investing in synchronous and modern information technology infrastructure. 100% of management agencies and educational facilities are connected to high-speed fiber optic internet. Schools in remote areas are supported to use 3G and 4G networks to ensure smooth communication.

The industry also increased the deployment of flexible online teaching solutions on popular platforms such as Viettel, VNPT, VinaPhone, Msteams, Google Meet, Zoom..., suitable to local conditions. Online training and education for teachers is regularly maintained, associated with the task of ensuring network safety and security.

Notably, Dien Bien has promoted the use of question banks and online test building systems in secondary and high schools; at the same time, it has formed a common test data warehouse for the whole province, contributing to standardizing the process of assessing student quality, creating fairness and objectivity in testing and examinations.

Responding to the movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation", many schools in the province have had good practices and effective models. Typical examples are the Department of Education and Training of Dien Bien Phu city, the Department of Education and Training of Tuan Giao district (old administrative unit), Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Luong The Vinh High School, the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities..., pioneering units in applying technology to administration, teaching and assessment.

Thanks to the good implementation of the movement, the quality of education in Dien Bien has had positive changes, the staff and teachers have gradually mastered digital technology, students are equipped with modern, creative and integrated learning skills.
