Before working as an actor, Quy Binh spent time in the military. Specifically, after graduating from high school, he applied to the Academy of Theater and Cinema, but his family opposed it because they were afraid of the ephemeral and unstable job. Therefore, Quy Binh registered to join the army, became a border guard in Can Gio, then was transferred to the Command Headquarters on Cong Quynh Street (HCMC). During that time, he convinced his unit to let him learn acting, with the condition that he had to wear military uniform and attend school during the day.

The first time Quy Binh touched the cinema was when he was in his second year of study, the actor received an invitation to play the supporting role in the movie 39 degrees of love . However, he gave up the role because he was afraid he could not meet his study schedule. After a while, when he graduated, Quy Binh was invited to participate in the movie Female Doctor . After casting, the actor received the main role. From then on, Quy Binh played the main role in almost all genres from cinema to television.

Quy Binh once made many people admire him when he built a home with his businesswoman wife.

Regarding his personal life, after many unsuccessful relationships, Quy Binh found happiness with his wife, businesswoman Ngoc Tien. The two held a wedding at the end of 2020 and then welcomed their first child. The actor shared that he felt lucky to marry a businesswoman because: "No one wants to walk next to someone who is not talented, not beautiful and not successful. And I also have to try very hard so that when I am with her, I do not feel self-conscious. Tien and I always give each other confidence when walking together."

Quy Binh once shared his joy in helping his wife take care of their children, fulfilling his role as an artist and supporting his partner in business. He once said: "I want the audience to know me through many roles, as an artist and businessman. However, I will not neglect the artistic path that has made my name over the years."
