Unable to hide his emotions, Do Hoang Hen shared: " I am very happy, proud and feel extremely grateful. I have officially become a Vietnamese citizen. I love the country and the people of Vietnam. Play in Ninh Binh on October 18
Officially being granted Vietnamese citizenship is an important milestone not only for Do Hoang Hen personally, but also the result of the active work of Hanoi Club over the past several months.
Since signing the contract in May 2025, Hanoi FC and Hendrio have both expressed their desire to acquire Vietnamese citizenship, thereby helping the Brazilian midfielder to contribute to the country's football for a long time. Realizing the suitability in both expertise and personality, Hanoi FC has accompanied the player throughout the entire process of preparing documents and completing administrative procedures in accordance with Vietnamese law.
Over the past several months, the Hanoi FC Board of Directors has worked closely with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Vietnam Sports Administration and relevant authorities to ensure the approval process is carried out in a proper and effective manner. Hanoi FC has also supported Hendrio in learning Vietnamese, learning about Vietnamese culture, history and laws - important factors in the citizenship application.

Audience hopes Vietnamese football will gain more strength
This support not only demonstrates responsibility but also reflects the sustainable development orientation of Hanoi Football Club: building a professional environment, helping foreign players integrate and have a long-term commitment to the team and fans.
Do Hoang Hen will officially be eligible to compete in the V-League 2025-2026 from the 7th round when Hanoi FC welcomes Ninh Binh at Hang Day Stadium at 7:15 p.m. on October 18, helping the capital team strengthen its squad. From a broader perspective, this is a testament to the development vision of Hanoi FC in contributing to improving the quality of Vietnamese football, through selecting, supporting and accompanying foreign players with ability, personality and desire to contribute.
What does VFF say?
"On behalf of VFF, I congratulate Hendrio and now Do Hoang Hen - officially becoming a Vietnamese citizen. We are very excited to have another member in the Vietnamese football family. Congratulations to Do Hoang Hen, on a new life with a new mindset in Vietnam, with the love that the Vietnamese people have for Do Hoang Hen. Hopefully, Do Hoang Hen will continue to demonstrate professionalism, dedication, and soon bring practical contributions to Vietnamese football in the club and national team colors" , Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - Deputy General Secretary of VFF sent congratulations to Do Hoang Hen.
Do Hoang Hen is one of the best foreign players in the V-League in recent years, with a technical playing style, modern thinking and the ability to create breakthroughs. If coach Kim Sang-sik gives him a chance to join the Vietnam national team, Do Hoang Hen's presence will increase the creativity of the attack, which is an inherent weakness of Vietnam due to the lack of a true "number 10" player.
The naturalization of Do Hoang Hen also shows that Vietnamese football is moving towards professionalism and international integration, just like Thailand or Japan did. Do Hoang Hen's success can become a model for other foreign players who have been with V-League for a long time, encouraging them to make efforts to contribute to Vietnamese football.
