Comrade Le Minh Ngan - Provincial Party Secretary worked with Vietnam Electricity Group on implementing projects in the province.

Working with the Provincial Delegation were comrades: Dang Hoang An - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group; Nguyen Anh Tuan - General Director of the Group and leaders of the Group.

Attending the working session, on Lai Chau province's side were leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial People's Committee Office, Department of Industry and Trade, and Lai Chau Electricity Company.

Currently, in the province, Vietnam Electricity Group is researching and investing in the construction of 7 power source projects with a total capacity of 1,290 MW, including 3 expansion projects: Lai Chau, Ban Chat, and Huoi Quang Hydropower Plants with a total capacity of 770 MW; 4 floating solar power projects on hydropower reservoirs with a total capacity of 462 MW.

At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnam Electricity Group proposed that Lai Chau province pay attention and coordinate in implementing upcoming projects such as: reviewing and updating annual land use plans and planning; appraising and approving investment policies for projects; clearing land and creating land funds for project implementation.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Le Minh Ngan - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: In recent times, Vietnam Electricity Group has actively coordinated with Lai Chau province to implement electricity projects in the area. The projects that have been put into operation and put into use have greatly contributed to the local budget. Lai Chau province has identified the implementation of the 8th electricity plan as one of the key tasks of the province. Regarding the 3 hydropower expansion projects: Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang, Lai Chau province commits to closely coordinate with the Group to remove difficulties and obstacles, implement procedures under the province's authority as quickly and urgently as possible, create favorable conditions for project implementation, and strive to complete them by 2030. Regarding the goal of 100% of villages and hamlets having electricity, the province is currently reviewing and implementing concentrated population arrangements, facilitating investment in villages without electricity.

Comrade Giang A Tinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

The Provincial Party Secretary suggested that Vietnam Electricity Group should soon invest in a project to eliminate 3 white villages without national grid electricity in 2025, creating conditions for sustainable poverty reduction, improving the quality of education and health care for people; shortening the implementation time of 3 projects to expand Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang Hydropower Plants and 4 new investment projects for hydropower works in the period 2025 - 2030.

Regarding the group's recommendations, the province will direct relevant agencies and units to coordinate to remove difficulties and obstacles in November.

Comrade Pham Hong Phuong - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group spoke at the meeting.

At the working session, the Provincial Party Secretary and Vietnam Electricity Group agreed to assign Comrade Giang A Tinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee and Comrade Pham Hong Phuong - Deputy General Director of the Group to be the focal point to direct the departments, branches, sectors and affiliated units of the province and the Group; promptly remove difficulties and problems arising in the process of implementing the projects and report to the Provincial Party Committee and the Group for direction and resolution.

With the proposal of Lai Chau province to soon deploy investment for 3 villages without electricity, Vietnam Electricity Group agreed to speed up the implementation progress in 2025.
