Floods damaged many rice fields.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, as of October 20, nearly 252 hectares of rice, fruit trees and vegetables were damaged in the whole province. Of these, nearly 230 hectares of rice were 100% damaged, 22 hectares of rice were 50-60% damaged; 19.5 hectares of fruit trees were 100% damaged; 2.5 hectares of fruit trees were 40-50% damaged and 1.5 hectares of vegetables were completely lost.
Of which, Vinh Thanh commune has 37.5 hectares of rice damaged (22.5 hectares of rice damaged 100%, 15 hectares damaged 50-60%) and 17.5 hectares of fruit trees damaged (15 hectares completely damaged, 2.5 hectares damaged 40-50%). Khanh Hung commune has nearly 160 hectares damaged about 60-70%. Tuyen Binh commune has 50 hectares damaged from 50-70%. Vinh Chau commune has 4.5 hectares of fruit trees; Moc Hoa commune has 1.5 hectares of vegetables completely damaged.

Faced with the above situation, provincial leaders and the Department of Agriculture and Environment organized local coordination teams to inspect and assess damage caused by rain and floods, urgently deploy plans to respond to rain and floods, and be ready to mobilize forces, means, and materials on the spot to promptly handle the situation.
At the same time, check, review and specifically determine the locations of weak embankments and dikes at risk of incidents; clearly understand the number of households living in areas likely to be affected by floods and agricultural production areas to proactively have timely response solutions./.
