This year's program to celebrate National Digital Transformation Day has the theme: "Digital transformation: Faster - more effective - closer to the people."
At the Program, the Ministry of Science and Technology also honored collectives and individuals with many achievements in the national digital transformation process, and at the same time, announced the results of the Digital Transformation Level (DTI) ranking in 2024 of provinces and cities.
In the top 5 localities leading in DTI in 2024, Hue rose to 2nd place nationwide (up 1 place compared to 2023). Hanoi ranked first for the first time in terms of Digital Transformation level among provinces and centrally run cities; Hai Phong City ranked 3rd, Ho Chi Minh City ranked 4th, Thanh Hoa ranked 5th. The DTI results of the provinces and cities after the merger were calculated based on the average value of the main DTI indicators of the provinces before the merger.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Digital Transformation Index includes 3 levels: Provincial Digital Transformation Index; Ministry Digital Transformation Index; National Digital Transformation Index.
The provincial digital transformation index is structured according to 3 main pillars: Digital government, digital economy and digital society. Each pillar includes 7 main indexes: index to assess perception transformation, index to assess institutional development, index to assess digital infrastructure and platform development, index to assess digital information and data, index to assess digital transformation activities, index to assess cybersecurity, index to assess training and human resource development.
The annual DTI index is an important basis reflecting the level of readiness and effectiveness of digital transformation implementation nationwide.
The National Digital Transformation journey started in 2020 and has achieved many important results: Digital government with 80% of public services completely processed in the digital environment, digital economy accounting for nearly 20% of GDP; digital society with 100 million digital citizens has been formed. In addition, digital technology is being popularized to every village and household.
2025 is considered a pivotal year, ending 5 years of implementing National Digital Transformation and opening Phase 2 (2026-2030).
