Dong Nai: Finding solutions to promote the role of border gates

Currently, the province has 3 main border gates: Hoa Lu International Border Gate, Hoang Dieu Border Gate and Loc Thinh Border Gate. In addition, there is Tan Tien sub-border gate and some trails and openings. These are favorable conditions for developing bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam in general, Dong Nai in particular with the Kingdom of Cambodia.

At the meeting, relevant units and representatives of 3 border gates: Hoa Lu International; Hoang Dieu and Loc Thinh presented the operation situation in the past time. Difficulties and obstacles in the organization, facilities and other related issues such as customs procedures, border management, etc. were also reported by representatives of each unit. The units also proposed that the province invest in connecting traffic infrastructure, especially the national highway connecting through the border gates to promote the role of inter-regional travel and freight transport.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son assessed that the operations of the border gates were relatively stable, contributing to the overall development of the province. However, there are still many problems that need to be resolved to make the management, operation and investment attraction in the border gate economic zone more effective.

The provincial leaders requested relevant units to continue reviewing the problems; paying attention to the issues of land use planning and construction planning in accordance with current regulations; at the same time, it will be the basis for investing in facilities, infrastructure, and calling for businesses. As soon as possible, the provincial leaders will arrange a team to survey the actual situation of the border gate areas to continue to have the most appropriate solutions.
