Sluggish in Vietnam, Isuzu MU-X launches 2026 version in Thailand

On October 21, Isuzu officially launched the mid-life upgrade (facelift) version of the 7-seat SUV MU-X in the Thai market with many new upgrades.

Isuzu has officially introduced the mid-life upgrade (facelift) version of the 7-seat SUV MU-X in the Thai market. Notably, the 2026 version not only improves on design and operation, but is also equipped with a series of advanced driver assistance technologies, starting with the standard ACTIVE version.

Compared to the previous version, the 2026 MU-X has some changes in the product portfolio: the two ELEGANT 3.0 and ULTIMATE 3.0 versions were removed, and the company also stopped providing two exterior paint colors: Etna Red and Iceberg Silver.

In terms of dimensions, the 2026 Isuzu MU-X is 4,850 mm long, 1,870 mm wide, 1,875 mm high, has a wheelbase of 2,855 mm and a ground clearance of 235 mm - an ideal configuration for a 7-seat SUV for both city and highway use. Fuel tank capacity reaches 80 liters.

Technically, all versions are equipped with the all-new STIFF FLEX suspension system, with damper valve adjustment to improve smoothness, while reducing body vibration when operating at high speeds or on complex terrain.

In the ACTIVE version - which is the standard version - users will have access to a series of features that are only found on high-end cars such as: full-speed adaptive cruise control system,...

In addition, the Isuzu MU-X 2026 ACTIVE version has forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, manual speed limit, automatic high beam on/off, brake assist when turning right, and especially a 3D stereo camera system that supports ADAS.

The ELEGANT version, in addition to the above features, also adds blind spot warning (BSM), rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) and automatic braking when there is a vehicle crossing (RCTB). The ULTIMATE version is equipped with a 360-degree camera system, while the RS versions (both 2.2 and 3.0) still retain the sporty style, now also improved the suspension system similarly.

In Thailand, the Isuzu MU-X 2026 is distributed in 6 versions, using two diesel engine configurations 2.2L and 3.0L, with 8-speed or 6-speed automatic transmission depending on the configuration. The selling price ranges from 1,194,000 - 1,759,000 baht (equivalent to 960 million VND to 1.4 billion VND).

All versions of MU-X 2026 are covered by a 3-year or 100,000 km genuine warranty by Tri Petch Isuzu Sales - the official distributor in Thailand. The car has 4 paint color options: Eiger Grey, Dolomite White pearl white, Bavarian Black metallic black and Bohemian Silver silver

In Vietnam, this SUV model is priced from 820 to 1.12 billion VND and is considered the most accessible in the segment, but has low sales and is often in the top slow-selling cars of the month. Previously, there were rumors that Isuzu would bring a new version of Mu-X to Vietnam after launching the new generation D-Max.
