The new Honda Civic Type R sports car has been launched, specifically for rally racing.
Honda has just introduced the Civic Type R HRC Rally XP, the rally version of the Type R FL5, which will debut at the F1 USGP and will compete in the ARA National Championship from next year.

Honda Racing Corporation has just introduced the Civic Type R HRC Rally XP, a rally version of the sixth-generation Civic Type R FL5. The car will make its debut at this weekend's F1 United States Grand Prix in Texas before officially competing in the ARA National Championship next season under the HART team. Compared to the commercial version, the new Honda Civic Type R HRC Rally XP 2026 will have some differences. First is the addition of a front bumper with two new air vents.
In addition, the hood of the Civic Type R HRC Rally XP 2026 is also supplemented with auxiliary air vents, helping the car to have better cooling capacity. Comes with a set of rally-style wheels from Speedline and Hoosier tires. The car is decked out in large HRC racing decals, complete with the ARA rally logo. The window bears the name of Liam Lawson, who will be driving the car at the launch event. The car is still equipped with the standard spoiler of the Civic Type R line. The exhaust system is also upgraded compared to the original, helping to optimize the car's performance.
Inside, the interior of the Honda Civic Type R HRC Rally XP is modified with an anti-roll frame, OMP racing steering wheel, dashboard with integrated gear shift indicator light, large handbrake... Information about the operating system has not been announced. In the US market, the Honda Civic Type R is equipped with a 2.0L "K20C1" turbocharged VTEC engine, with a capacity of 320 horsepower. Originally, the new generation Honda Civic Type R sports car is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission with 4 driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Individual and +R. The Honda Civic Type R can reach a maximum speed of 272 km/h.
From next season, the Honda Civic Type R HRC Rally XP will compete in the L2WD class and replace the 2017 Civic and 2023 Acura Integra in the HART team. The appearance of the rally version marks a new step for the Type R in motorsport, expanding from the circuit to the challenging dirt playground.
