Liverpool fans outraged by Salah's selfish move

Liverpool fans have criticised Mohamed Salah for being selfish, after he chose to shoot instead of passing to Florian Wirtz to score from a good position.

Salah was left out of the starting line-up for the trip to Frankfurt by coach Arne Slot. The Egyptian striker was only brought on late in the game, when Liverpool were leading 5-1.

Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Cody Gakpo and Szoboszlai took turns scoring, helping the Reds end a miserable four-match losing streak.

Salah's recent form has been quite poor. He was brought in from the 74th minute, replacing Ekitike when the situation was almost decided.

At the final moment of the match, the "Egyptian king" had the opportunity to assist rookie Writz to score his first goal in a Liverpool shirt.

However, Salah ignored his teammates and decided to shoot from a narrow angle, which failed. The move caused many Kop fans to express their anger on social media.

One wrote: "That could have been Writz's first goal if Salah hadn't been so Selfish. A terrible choice, especially when the German needed a psychological goal."

Another fan expressed his opinion: "Salah needs to stop this selfish nonsense. He could have had 2 assists if he didn't finish from better positions to pass the ball."

Others called for Salah to be dropped from the starting line-up for this weekend's trip to Brentford: "Salah should be left out of the starting line-up. He's selfish and desperate. He could have passed to Writz but Salah was overcome with greed."
