Ganh Da Dia - the black pearl of Phu Yen sea

According to experts, Ganh Da Dia was formed from basalt more than 200 million years ago, when high-temperature lava flows from volcanoes in the central region of Phu Yen province flowed into the sea and suddenly encountered cold water, causing them to shrink and solidify. Then, they broke in many directions, creating rocks of different shapes naturally, but like the "intentional chaos" of nature.

Located about 35km north of Tuy Hoa city center, with its natural beauty and unique structure, Ganh Da Dia (Ganh Da Dia) is considered a magnificent masterpiece of rock bestowed by nature and has become a precious gem of Phu Yen tourism industry.

The basalt blocks formed about 200 million years ago are stacked on top of each other in unique shapes thanks to volcanic activity in the Van Hoa plateau (Son Hoa district). Over time, with waves from the sea, the stone pillars here have not separated or broken but have clung to each other, playing with the sea.

In the world , besides Phu Yen, there are only a few other places with this phenomenon such as Giant's Causeway (Ireland), Los Organos (Spain) and Fingal (Scotland),...

Legend has it that the prismatic rocks here were stacked on top of each other by the hands of a giant god or that some treasure was turned into stone with a mythical color. With a width of more than 50m and a length of about 200m, from afar, Ganh Da Dia looks like a giant honeycomb, shining with a mysterious black color, standing out in the middle of a clear blue sky and sea.

Ganh Da Dia also attracts visitors with its changing colors according to the sunlight. At dawn, the jet black color of the stone plates is covered with the brilliant yellow light of the bright sunlight at the beginning of the day, typical of the Central Coast region. And when the afternoon falls, the red sunset dyes the stone slabs pink. Therefore, each moment of Ganh Da Dia brings visitors different feelings.

Amidst the poetic clear blue water, the mysterious black-brown rocky cliffs emerge, beneath them are white foaming waves crashing day and night. At the foot of the cliffs, there are deep hollows that are home to many marine creatures that visitors can easily observe when visiting.

Standing high up, looking out into the distance is a peaceful, poetic scene, cool blue water, immense sea and sky with boats bobbing on the waves.
