Free screening of 3 films about Hanoi to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day

From October 8 to 10, 2025, at Ngoc Khanh Cinema (523 Kim Ma, Giang Vo, Hanoi), Vietnam Film Institute organized Vietnamese Film Days to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025).

"Vietnamese Film Days" is not only an opportunity for audiences to review traditions but also contributes to fostering love and pride for thousand-year-old Hanoi , especially among the young generation.

Films shown on this occasion include: "North of the Capital"; "Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca"; "Hanoi 12 Days and Nights". All films will be shown free of charge to the audience at 9:00 a.m. from October 8-10.

Specifically, on October 8, the feature film "North of the Capital" produced by Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 1977, directed by Huy Thanh, will be shown. The film tells the story of love, family and the workers tasked with protecting the Yen Phu Power Plant during the days when American bombs rained down on Hanoi.

On October 9, the feature film "Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca" by director Dao Ba Son, produced by Liberation Film Studio in 2010, was shown. The film is a love story between poet To Nhu and a female singer named Cam, set in the historical context of Vietnam's ups and downs (1783-1813). The work depicts the human condition and the vitality of the culture of Thang Long in particular and Vietnam in general. "Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca" won the Golden Kite Award of the Vietnam Cinema Association in 2010.

On October 10, the feature film "Hanoi 12 Days and Nights" directed by People's Artist Bui Dinh Hac, produced by Vietnam Feature Film Studio in 2002, was shown. The work reflects truthfully, vividly, praising the bravery, resilience, intelligence, and creativity of the army and people of the Capital that created the glorious victory of "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air" in 1972. The film won the Silver Lotus award at the 14th Vietnam Film Festival.

The works selected for screening on this occasion are all classic and outstanding works of Vietnamese cinema, recreating the heroic historical milestones and cultural beauty of Hanoi./.
