Gasoline prices drop across the board, RON 95 leaves the 20,000 VND/liter mark

Gasoline prices in today's management period (July 17) were adjusted down, in which RON 95 gasoline price left the mark of 20,000 VND/liter.

Based on the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, petroleum businesses will simultaneously adjust petroleum prices from 3:00 p.m. today (July 17).

At today's operating session, gasoline prices were adjusted down.

Specifically, compared to the previous adjustment period, the price of RON 95 gasoline (the popular type on the market) today was adjusted down by 170 VND/liter, the retail price is 19,920 VND/liter.

Similarly, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 170 VND/liter, the retail price was at 19,480 VND/liter.

Diesel price decreased by 40 VND/liter, retail price at 18,790 VND/liter.

Gasoline prices are adjusted down.

Previously, in the operating period on July 10, the price of gasoline was adjusted up. Accordingly, the price of gasoline increased from 190-210 VND/liter. The price of diesel increased by 430 VND/liter.

Accordingly, the environmental protection tax on gasoline, excluding ethanol, is expected to be 2,000 VND/liter; diesel, fuel oil and lubricants is 1,000 VND/liter; grease is 1,000 VND/kg; kerosene is 600 VND/liter.

In particular, it is proposed to apply a tax rate of 2,000 VND/liter on jet fuel, instead of the current preferential rate of 1,000 VND/liter.

From 2027, environmental protection tax is expected to return to the ceiling level, according to regulations: gasoline (except ethanol) is 4,000 VND/liter; jet fuel is 3,000 VND/liter; diesel, mazut, lubricants are 2,000 VND/liter; kerosene is 1,000 VND/liter; grease is 2,000 VND/kg.

The policy of reducing environmental protection tax on gasoline and oil will be applied from April 2022.

According to the Ministry of Finance , maintaining the tax reduction policy in recent years has helped stabilize gasoline prices, limiting the negative impact of world price movements. This year, the tax reduction also contributes to reducing tax costs in the retail structure, thereby reducing gasoline prices.
