
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent a document to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline prices. Accordingly, gasoline prices will decrease from 3 p.m. today (September 11).
Specifically, E5RON92 gasoline has a ceiling price of 19,756 VND/liter, down 95 VND/liter compared to the current price; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 20,400 VND/liter, down 39 VND/liter compared to the current price. Contrary to the downward trend of gasoline prices, diesel oil price increased by 170 VND/liter, up to 18,643 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 54 VND/liter, the new price is 18,368 VND/liter, while mazut oil decreased by 286 VND, down to 15,090 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of the year, the price stabilization fund has remained unchanged, with no deductions or expenditures for petroleum products. A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group ( Petrolimex ) said that up to the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,085 billion VND, unchanged.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in this management period, the plan to manage gasoline prices aims to ensure that domestic gasoline price fluctuations are consistent with world gasoline price fluctuations; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy; ensure the harmony of interests between market participants.
In the most recent adjustment on September 4, the prices of both gasoline and oil increased, specifically, E5RON92 gasoline increased by 80 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 76 VND/liter. Along with that, diesel oil increased by 116 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 89 VND/liter and mazut oil increased by 116 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday.
