The National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (PCs) is an annual award presented to outstanding press works on the National Assembly and PCs organized by the Office of the National Assembly in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association , Vietnam Television, and the Hanoi People's Council.
The third National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) in 2025 focuses on reflecting the following main contents:
1. Significance and results of the National Assembly sessions, focusing on the 5th Extraordinary Session, 7th Session and 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
2. The process and results of the implementation of the functions, tasks and powers of the National Assembly in the activities of constitution-making, legislation, supreme supervision and decision-making on important issues of the country; the significance and importance of the decisions of the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, People's Councils at all levels, especially newly issued decisions; outstanding results in the supervision activities of agencies and elected representatives.
3. The National Assembly's foreign affairs activities in implementing the Party and State's foreign policy contribute to creating a peaceful and stable environment for national development and maintaining national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
4. Innovations and improvements to improve the quality and efficiency of operations of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Assembly Secretary General, National Assembly agencies, the National Assembly Office, agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee, and People's Councils at all levels.
5. The implementation of the function of guiding and supervising the activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee towards the People's Council; reflecting on the position, role, process, results of performing tasks, powers and activities of the People's Council; innovations in the organization and methods of operation of the People's Council.
6. Reflecting the thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and proposals of voters and people to the National Assembly and People's Councils; contributing to improving the effectiveness of the National Assembly and People's Councils' operations.
Authors participating in the contest:
All Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad (including Vietnamese people living abroad), and people with foreign nationality whose press works meet the criteria of the award are entitled to submit their works. In case many people create the same work, the award will be given to the group of authors (the maximum number of authors in a group is 7 people; for large programs of the radio and television type, the group of authors has a maximum of 10 people with main positions such as scriptwriter, editor, director, cameraman, host).
Each author or group of authors can submit up to 5 works. The same content or topic cannot be submitted to different categories.
Works participating in the competition:
The works participating in the third Dien Hong Award in 2025 are written in Vietnamese (or ethnic minority languages, foreign languages translated into Vietnamese), published and broadcast from December 6, 2023 to November 20, 2024 in newspapers, radio stations, and magazines licensed by the competent authority to operate the press. The works participating in the contest are works published, published, broadcast for the first time, in their original form, without editing, re-editing, or re-broadcasting.
Types of press participating in the contest:
Print newspapers, print magazines, electronic newspapers, e-magazines, audio newspapers, visual newspapers.
The journalism categories for the award are works belonging to 3 groups of genres: news; political and artistic political; some multimedia journalism genres and data journalism. Specifically including: news, reflection articles, interviews, comments, special articles, political commentary, reports, investigative reports, notes, journalistic notes, exchanges, discussions, documentaries, press photos, data journalism...
Time for receiving works: From January 5, 2023 (launch date of the Award) to November 22, 2024 (according to the postmark).
