"Lantern Street" Luong Nhu Hoc

Luong Nhu Hoc area, the intersection of Nguyen Trai and Tran Hung Dao streets, Ho Chi Minh City is known as "lantern street" or "lantern capital".

This place is famous for its tradition of lantern production and trade that has been preserved for many generations. This is also the place that most clearly shows the Mid-Autumn Festival spirit of the Chinese community in Cho Lon.

This street begins to be brightly decorated from the beginning of the 8th lunar month. The most bustling time is from 7pm to 9pm. Here, visitors can visit, take photos, and buy lanterns from traditional to modern.

Small, simple paper lamps cost between 25,000 and 30,000 VND, while medium-sized ones range from 30,000 to 80,000 VND. Larger, more elaborate models with LED lights or “hot trend” models can cost up to several hundred thousand VND.

Nguyen Hue Walking Street

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, visitors can come to this crowded and bustling walking street to watch lion dances, drum performances or music shows for children. Many interesting activities also take place here.

Parks, shopping centers

Residents and tourists with children can experience the Mid-Autumn Festival at Dam Sen Cultural Park or White Rabbit Entertainment Area, where lantern parades, lion dances, folk games, etc. regularly take place. Suoi Tien Tourist Area will organize large-scale art performances and lantern parades.

Shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City also decorate many eye-catching check-in corners, welcoming tourists to visit and shop.

Unique coffee shops

A coffee shop on Ten Lua Street (An Lac Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) spent about 100 million VND to decorate the landscape and erect a 12m long dragon to create a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere.

The space of the restaurant stands out with a 12m long Ly dynasty dragon model, symbolizing the country's rise, along with Hoi An lanterns, an old grocery store and a 2m high moon model made from more than 100 star lanterns.
