Regarding the incident of putting spoiled meat and eggs into the meals of students at Cu Khe Primary School, Binh Minh Commune ( Hanoi ), on October 16, the Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene reported and verified the information.
The Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene has recorded shortcomings such as flies in the preliminary processing and preparation areas; the cooking and portioning areas are located together with the washing area, which can lead to cross-contamination between raw and cooked foods; the drainage system in the processing area is not sealed, stagnant, and has a foul odor; the 3-step food inspection was not performed on October 16, 2025; there are not enough food dividing tables (there are only 2 small stainless steel tables to divide food for 1,450 meals).
During the inspection, Nhat Anh Import-Export Trading and Service Company Limited presented its business registration certificate, certificate of food safety eligibility, documents proving the origin of food (Canh Nau Cooperative), domestic water test certificate (the school uses water provided by Nhat Phat Investment Company Limited); and a contract for purchasing drinking water directly for students (Lavie bottled water).
The Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene requested Binh Minh commune to strictly control the implementation of food safety regulations in the organization of meals for boarding students at Cu Khe Primary School in particular and schools in Binh Minh commune in general.
Suppliers are only allowed to operate when they ensure full compliance with food safety regulations; proactively and regularly control the traceability of the origin and food ingredients supplied and used in school kitchens; strictly handle food safety violations (if any); have plans to replace suppliers that do not meet the conditions according to Instruction 02/HD-BCĐ and promptly report to the Hanoi People's Committee.
Previously, according to information reflecting the incident of bringing spoiled meat and rotten eggs to Cu Khe Primary School by Nhat Anh Import-Export Trading and Service Company Limited, which is providing meals in the form of cooking at the school, the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department worked and coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune to inspect food safety at the collective kitchen of Cu Khe Primary School.
According to the report of the People's Committee of the commune, at 6:10 a.m. on October 15, the monitoring team consisting of parents and representatives of Cu Khe Primary School supervised the food supply and the boarding kitchen of Cu Khe Primary School. The school's boarding kitchen is currently run by Nhat Anh Import-Export Trading and Service Company Limited, which is the cooking unit at the school.
At the time of monitoring, the monitoring team, consisting of 2 parents and 1 school health worker , recorded that the ingredients used for lunch on October 15 included pork (raw) and pre-peeled quail eggs in plastic bags. Immediately after opening the bags, a strange smell was detected.
After opening the plastic bag for a while, the meat lost its strange smell and continued to be processed. For the pre-peeled quail eggs that had a fishy smell, the supplier replaced them with chicken eggs.
The food supplier for Nhat Anh Import Export Trading and Service Company Limited is Canh Nau Cooperative located in Ban Don, Xuan Luong Commune, Bac Ninh Province.
Immediately after receiving the report on the incident, the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune worked with the Board of Directors of Cu Khe Primary School, representatives of parents, and Nhat Anh Import-Export Trading and Service Company Limited on the above incident, seriously drawing lessons.
The People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune requested the company to stop the food supply contract with Canh Nau Cooperative; requested Cu Khe Primary School to strengthen management and supervision, implement food safety regulations and promptly report to the People's Committee of the Commune when there are abnormalities.
The People's Committee of Binh Minh commune also issued Decision No. 1007/QD-UBND dated October 15, 2025 on the establishment of an Inspection Team for the organization of boarding meals and food safety at educational institutions in Binh Minh commune for the 2025-2026 school year to inspect boarding meals at schools in the area./.
