On the evening of October 19, in the match of round 7 of V-League 2025 - 2026, Thanh Hoa Club visited rookie PVF-CAND with heavy pressure after 6 consecutive matches of draws and losses.
In the first half, Thanh Hoa tried to dominate the game but encountered fierce resistance from the young players on the home side.
In the 40th minute, Vo Nguyen Hoang fired a shot from a very narrow angle on the left, defeating goalkeeper Phi Minh Long, helping Thanh Hoa Club take a 1-0 lead over PVF-CAND.
With the advantage after the break, Thanh Hoa played somewhat subjectively and let PVF-CAND score 2 goals in a row in the second half.
In the 60th minute, Nguyen Xuan Bac scored the equalizer 1-1 with a beautiful volley in the penalty area. Vo Anh Quan was the one who crossed the ball, eliminating the entire Thanh Hoa Club defense.
In the 66th minute, Anh Quan scored to put PVF-CAND ahead 2-1 with a precise turn and shot in Thanh Hoa's penalty area.
Xuan Bac and Anh Quan are both regular players in the U23 Vietnam squad under coach Kim Sang Sik at the moment. Their shining in the V-League brings positive signals ahead of the upcoming 33rd SEA Games.
After two consecutive losses, Thanh Hoa Club sent in Doan Ngoc Tan and Lao player of Vietnamese origin Damoth Thongkhamsavath to improve the game.
In the 78th minute, Trinh Van Loi scored a superb goal to bring the score to 2-2 for Thanh Hoa. From a cross into the penalty area from his teammate, Van Loi received the ball with his chest and then fired a "bicycle kick" to defeat goalkeeper Phi Minh Long.
In the remaining time, both teams played an open game in an attempt to end the match with a win. However, neither team was able to capitalize on their opportunities and the match ended with a score of 2-2.
This result extended Thanh Hoa FC's winless streak to 7. After this round, the Thanh team is temporarily second to last in the rankings (13/14 teams). PVF-CAND is in 10th place.
