Professor Trinh Quang Phu, 'the flowing river' at the age of 85
Professor Trinh Quang Phu is 85 years old this year and is still very clear-headed. His wife, Mrs. Huynh Thi Kim Huong, said he has a passion for writing about Uncle Ho and writes from the available materials in his head after decades of research and study. When he sits down to write a book, nothing can distract him.
Colonel Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the People's Army Publishing House's representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, said that after the book Following His Footprints , the professor is planning the book The Man Who Traveled Across Mountains and Rivers, the next work about Uncle Ho, scheduled to be released at the end of 2025.
The professor has a very meticulous, scientific and serious way of working. Before the conversation, he said that his upcoming book needed further editing because he had just found a new witness. His writing style is easy to understand, easy to touch people's hearts and full of humanity.

Colonel Tran The Tuyen believes that writer Trinh Quang Phu is one of the Vietnamese who has written the most and most successfully about Uncle Ho - Photo: LE GIANG
As a guest speaker, Colonel and writer Tran The Tuyen is Professor Phu's younger brother, student, and colleague. He commented that the professor is a security colonel and also a soldier of Uncle Ho's army, who has been through the entire resistance war for independence and is still like a "flowing river".
Because the professor came from a revolutionary family, he went through many hardships of the resistance war but still returned home and wrote down. After liberation until now, he is still devoted to his revolutionary life. Colonel Tran The Tuyen said that writer Trinh Quang Phu is one of the Vietnamese who wrote about Uncle Ho the most and most successfully.
He is not only a writer, a scientist, a manager but also a soldier on special missions, so his works have a strong investigative quality. His memoirs have literary quality but are about specific people and specific spaces.
The younger generation admires his artistic labor. The book " The Man Who Traveled Across Mountains and Rivers" is expected to be 500 pages thick.

The author of 8 books about Uncle Ho
Professor Trinh Quang Phu met Uncle Ho many times when he was alive. He remembered his advice: "Every time we met, Uncle Ho told us to be extremely humble and to think about others more than ourselves."
Professor Trinh Quang Phu began writing about Uncle Ho in 1969 when he passed away. At that time, he was working in the Southern Department of the Central Party, in charge of press and publishing, operating very secretly.
"The South asked me to write articles in time to send to the battlefield, published in many newspapers," he said. Later, poet Bao Dinh Giang told him to collect those articles and print them into a book, called The South in Uncle Ho's Heart, to send to the battlefield.

Next, Professor Trinh Quang Phu wrote the books "You are the belief", "Uncle Ho in Phan Thiet", "Uncle Ho's path to save the country", and "Following Uncle Ho to fight the resistance".
After liberation, his writing style and the demand from readers were always very high. He wrote From Sen Village to Nha Rong Wharf, Following His Footprints and the upcoming book He Traveled Across Mountains and Rivers . There are 8 books about Uncle Ho in total, one of which has not been published yet.
For Professor Trinh Quang Phu, over the past 60 years, since 1961 with his reportage in the newspaper Cuu Quoc, he won a literary award, but since 1975 until now, he has been a scientific research expert, so the pen is still his left hand. He is a typical example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style.
