Initial estimates indicate that over 20 hectares of forest were damaged after a fire broke out in Nghiem Mountain, Hoang Khai Commune (Yen Son, Tuyen Quang ) at noon on March 21.

Because the burnt forest area was a bamboo forest with thick vegetation and dry weather, the fire spread widely, causing difficulties for rescue forces.

As of 0:00 on March 22, more than 800 people participated in the rescue and created about 1,000 meters of runway to prevent the fire from spreading.

At about 5:30 a.m. on March 22, the fire at Nghiem Mountain continued to flare up within the fire barrier created by authorities.

Authorities worked all night to control the fire. However, the dry weather, dark nights, strong winds, and complex terrain made it difficult for the participating forces.
