The principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 (Quang Tri) has just sent a letter of apology to parents and students after a photo of a boarding meal consisting of only boiled eggs and a few pieces of ham, worth 25,000 VND, went viral on social media.

On October 7, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 (Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province), said that she had sent a letter of apology to parents and students regarding yesterday's (October 6) unsatisfactory lunch.

In the letter, Ms. Thuy expressed her sincere apologies and accepted responsibility for the shortcomings in the management and supervision of the menu and food portions, which resulted in the quality of the meals not being guaranteed.

After receiving the feedback, the school verified and worked with the catering unit to learn from experience, correct procedures, and avoid similar incidents from happening again. At the same time, it committed to strengthening daily supervision, improving meal quality, and ensuring nutrition and food safety for boarding students.

In the coming time, the school will take photos of food portions, and homeroom teachers will be responsible for sending them to their class groups so that parents can easily monitor and feel more secure.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 6, on social networks, a photo of a boarding meal consisting of white rice, 3 pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg, a dish similar to sesame salt and a bowl of soup with a few vegetables worth 25,000 VND of students of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 went viral.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Minh Thuy, the school currently has nearly 600 students eating at the boarding school, and the food is provided by a contracted business. However, due to the scarcity of food after the storm and the lack of pork, the school has not yet allowed students to eat. Therefore, the meal on October 6 did not meet the requirements.
