Coach Troussier holds press conference before Vietnam - Syria match

To prepare for the match against Syria, Coach Troussier selected 30 players, including seven U23 players, from both the national team and U23. Before the match, he will shorten the list to 23 players.

This will be the second friendly match of the Vietnamese team under the French coach. In his debut match - against Hong Kong at Lach Tray Stadium on June 15, the team won 1-0 thanks to Que Ngoc Hai's penalty, but did not leave much of a positive impression. Despite having more possession of the ball, the Vietnamese team did not create many scoring opportunities and only escaped defeat thanks to goalkeeper Dang Van Lam shining and the ball finding the goal post three times after shots from Hong Kong players.
