Ticket support for passengers testing biometric recognition on the Cat Linh-Ha Dong route

Hanoi Metro One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro) in collaboration with VISA (main sponsor) and Thang Long Software Joint Stock Company (VISA's technical partner) will support all ticket prices for passengers participating in the pilot program of identification solutions, electronic authentication and biometric recognition, and cashless payment on urban railway line No. 2A, Cat Linh-Ha Dong from October 10 to October 30, 2025.

Accordingly, passengers who buy tickets on the Hanoi Metro app register an identification account using a chip-embedded ID card/citizen ID card on the Hanoi Metro app when buying single-trip tickets, daily tickets and weekly tickets will be fully supported for the ticket price. When purchasing tickets on the Hanoi app, passengers will receive an e-ticket in the form of a QR code on their phone to pass through the ticket gate.

For time-based tickets (daily tickets, weekly tickets) will be activated at the time of purchase and only valid during the trial period. Passengers with multiple trips will still be sponsored for tickets during the program period.

Passengers paying by Visa card under the “Tap & Go” model using a valid VISA card to pay when going through the ticket gate will not have money deducted from the card.

Passengers aged 60 and over using an ID card/citizen ID card with chip to pass through the ticket gate are exempt from the ticket fee according to the fare policy of Hanoi City.
