On October 11, Mr. Mua A Thi, Head of Hang Pu Xi village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien province, was awarded the "Youth with Beautiful Life" award for saving 90 people from danger when flash floods and landslides suddenly struck the village. After the flood, he and the people overcame the consequences and actively rebuilt their lives. Before that, he was awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the President in recognition of his brave actions in saving people.
Remember, last year, at a young age, Ma Seo Chu, Chief of Kho Vang village ( Lao Cai province) became a "hero" when he helped 17 households with 115 people escape the terrible flood by just a hair's breadth.
Many young village chiefs in the mountainous areas of the North have shown the spirit of daring to take responsibility, being close to the people, and being exemplary in the movements of cultural and economic development and new rural construction. Despite their young age, they have built up their personal prestige through concrete and meaningful actions for the villagers. When people were in danger, with their experience, they proactively guided and brought people to safety before natural disasters struck. Their actions are not only beautiful and symbolic images, but also evidence of the strength from the grassroots, where community cohesion and responsibility are promoted.
