"Cloud hunting" on the mountain top
In late autumn, from the center of Thai Nguyen province, we traveled about 130km to Lung Trang village, Phuc Loc commune in the North of the province to "hunt clouds".
Early morning on the steppe is very special. Mist lingers, sunlight shines through the clouds, bringing warmth to the mountainous region. The sun slowly rises, white clouds roll and embrace the mountains.
Having come here many times to hunt for photos, Photographer Hoang Thao, Phan Dinh Phung ward, excitedly said: To "hunt" for lots of clouds here, you have to go very early, when the clouds are still thick and have not been diluted by sunlight.
The best time to “hunt clouds” is in the fall and winter when the maple leaves turn yellow and red. The best time to capture the sunrise is from 5 to 7 am.

Lung Trang is 22km from Ba Be Lake, an ideal picnic spot for locals and tourists . At 7am, the sun rose high, so we had breakfast and watched the Dao and Tay villages below. The people here still retain many traditional cultural features, so when coming to "cloud hunting" in Lung Trang, tourists can combine visiting these villages.
In addition, locally, history lovers can learn about the places that Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap passed through on their revolutionary journey.
On the steppe there are many grassy hills with different shapes - some are flat and round, some are long and bumpy like a dinosaur's back; wild flowers grow sparsely in the bushes, in the distance are rolling mountains and clouds... for visitors to enjoy.
By chance, I learned about Lung Trang grassland through Facebook and traveled a long distance with my friends to experience it. Tran Thuy Ngoc, a tourist who loves to "travel" from Dai Tu commune, Thai Nguyen, said: When walking on the grassy hill, I found the nature here very favorable.
Airy and cool, Lung Trang sky is clear, infinite view is very suitable for "cloud hunting". Free, carefree, feeling like being in harmony with the sky and earth with the purple hills, and checking in with unique and meaningful photos.

Just as Ngoc said, setting foot on the grassy hill, the first impression for visitors is the vast landscape, as if there is no end.
The grassy hills are undulating, with flat, gentle sections, very suitable for playing and camping. Perhaps families who are looking for a place for their children to play, run around, and get away from computers and phones, this is a suggestion that cannot be ignored.
The high sky with drifting white clouds and smooth grass are the unique specialties of Lung Trang. At each moment, the steppe is beautiful and has its own charm.
In the summer, the grass will be a lush, cool green, but the grass will change color according to the season and time. In late autumn or winter, the grass turns yellow, making the space a bit wild, mysterious, but full of cinematic quality.
Not far from Ba Be Lake tourist complex, Lung Trang grassland is one of the new and unique landscapes, very suitable for camping and picnicking on weekends.
Camping in Lung Trang is more wonderful than enjoying the fresh air of the morning mist, watching the dawn spread across the Northeast region. In the afternoon, the sunset falls on the hills, a red color covers everywhere. At night, you can freely watch the starry sky.
