Every morning, before the first class, all students in the school spend the first 15 minutes reading the newspaper, discussing and sharing outstanding content.
The newspaper that the school library prioritizes is Da Nang newspaper, because this is a close information channel, vividly reflecting the economic , cultural and social situation in the locality and area where the students live.
Teacher Zo Ram Duy, Secretary of the Youth Union of Quang Nam Ethnic Boarding High School, shared: "Through monitoring, we see that the school's students are particularly interested in sections such as Social Security - Poverty Reduction, Education - Employment, Culture - Society, Youth... in Da Nang Newspaper. At the end of the reading period, representatives of each class will share the content or lessons learned in front of the class."

The movement "Reading newspapers in the first 15 minutes of class" helps students practice reading and comprehension skills, develop presentation skills, and logical thinking.
To increase interaction, the youth union branches proactively divided into small groups, each group of 3-5 students read the newspaper, discussed, and took turns reading aloud to each other. This method encouraged coordination, listening, and respect for each other's opinions. After reading, the students had the task of folding the newspaper and returning it to the library in the right place.
Ms. Dinh Thi Mai Huong, a librarian, shared: “The movement of reading newspapers at the beginning of the school year was initiated at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Through the process of monitoring and supporting, I realized that the movement has had a strong influence on students. Not only actively participating in reading newspapers in the first 15 minutes of the school day, many students also proactively registered to borrow newspapers to read in their rooms in the evening. This is a very encouraging sign. In the coming time, the school will consider ordering more newspapers and magazines to meet the increasing reading needs of students.”

Alang Ho Hiep Duc, Secretary of the Youth Union of class 12/1, shared: “Reading the newspaper every day not only helps us update new information but also understand more about our homeland and our fellow countrymen. In Da Nang newspaper, I see a lot of good content about examples of overcoming difficulties and positive changes in the locality, which gives me more motivation to study and contribute to building the village in the future.”
Zo Ram Thi My Nhi, a Co Tu ethnic minority student in class 10/2, shared: “In the highlands, because of the great geographical distance, students sometimes have little access to books and newspapers. Now, reading the newspaper every morning, I learn many new and useful things with information close to life.”
Mr. Zo Ram Duy, Secretary of the Youth Union of Quang Nam Ethnic Boarding High School, hopes that after students have access to useful and positive information from mainstream media, they will be guided to think correctly and be more responsible for themselves, their families and the community.
