The 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians is the largest ever

From September 14 to 17, 2023, in Hanoi, the Vietnamese National Assembly will host the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference. This is one of the important events, aiming to implement the guidelines of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolutions and Directives of the Politburo and Secretariat on the Party's foreign policy.

Secretary General of the National Assembly , Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, Deputy Head of the Conference Organizing Committee, said that compared to previous Global Young Parliamentarians Conferences, this Conference hosted by the Vietnamese National Assembly has 6 differences.

Firstly, the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians hosted by the National Assembly of Vietnam will be the largest conference ever, attracting nearly 500 delegates. Of which, more than 300 international delegates have registered to attend; the conference program has many rich and diverse activities; many attractive sideline activities such as talks, exhibitions, etc.

Second, the preparation process of the Vietnamese National Assembly's Conference has clearly demonstrated the Party and State's care and concern for the young generation and the role of young people in building a peaceful and prosperous world and solving global challenges.

Third, the Conference also demonstrates the special role and strength of the youth movement in Vietnam and Vietnamese youth organizations compared to many other countries. In Vietnam, the organization of this Conference has attracted the attention and participation of many young people, and this is also an opportunity to promote the Vietnamese youth movement to international friends.

Fourth, the Vietnamese National Assembly has prepared very carefully for the Conference. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has paid special attention, proposed many initiatives and closely directed the preparation work for the Conference. This is a good opportunity to introduce to international friends about the country and people of Vietnam. Through the Conference, young parliamentarians around the world will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the innovation and development of Vietnam, creating favorable conditions for international relations in the future.

Therefore, the Vietnamese National Assembly has made very careful and comprehensive preparations for the organization of the Conference, covering all aspects of information, communication, security, logistics, health care, reception, etc. with detailed plans and projects. Agencies and units have also actively coordinated with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), foreign representative agencies in Vietnam as well as parliaments of other countries and relevant parties in the preparation process to ensure the best results. As the host, Vietnam also provides a team of volunteers to meet special requests and events, and pays attention to communication work to enhance promotion of the event.

Fifth, the Conference is expected to adopt the Conference Declaration, which will be the first Conference Declaration of the IPU Global Meeting of Young Parliamentarians through 8 Conferences. The Conference Declaration will be a highly political call and a strong commitment of young parliamentarians to promote the role of youth in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sixth, this is also the first time the IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has its own logo and Conference identity with profound meaning, expressing the identity of the host country Vietnam, promoting the spirit of solidarity and youthfulness, highly appreciated by international friends, becoming a highlight of the Conference.
