According to the General Statistics Office, in September, international visitors to Vietnam reached 1.5 million, down 9.6% compared to the previous month and up 19.5% compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months of 2025, international visitors to Vietnam reached more than 15.4 million, up 21.5% compared to the same period last year.
Of which, arrivals by air reached 13.1 million, accounting for 85.2% of international arrivals and increasing by 21.9% over the same period last year; by road reached 2.1 million, accounting for 13.6% and increasing by 19.4%; by sea reached 190.6 thousand, accounting for 1.2% and increasing by 15.1%.

After 9 months of 2025, the two markets of China and South Korea contributed nearly half of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. China is currently the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam with more than 3.89 million arrivals. South Korea ranked second, reaching over 3.23 million arrivals.
The top tourist sending markets for Vietnam tourism also include Taiwan, China (926.4 thousand arrivals), the United States (622.5 thousand arrivals), Japan (617.7 thousand arrivals)... Notably, India has risen to become the 6th largest source of visitors to Vietnam (504.6 thousand arrivals), ranking above Cambodia (489.8 thousand arrivals).
After 9 months, the Russian market had the largest growth rate at 273% compared to the same period last year, making Russia the 8th largest market for Vietnamese tourism with 435,100 arrivals. The Malaysian market (405,200 arrivals) and Australian market (401,200 arrivals) ranked 9th and 10th respectively in terms of the number of visitors to Vietnam. Notably, the Philippine market rose to 11th in terms of the number of visitors to Vietnam with 336,700 arrivals (192% compared to the same period last year).
According to the General Statistics Office, tourism revenue in the first 9 months of 2025 is estimated at 69.6 trillion VND, up 20.5% over the same period last year because from the beginning of the year, many localities have actively implemented tourism stimulus programs and developed many new types of tourism to attract domestic and foreign tourists. Some localities have high revenue in the first 9 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, including: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 24.3%; Hanoi increased by 21.9%; Quang Ninh increased by 20.2%; Da Nang increased by 13.2%...
