More than 300 athletes participated in the final round of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run

The event took place in the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day and the 68th anniversary of the first issue of Hanoi Moi Newspaper.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of Quang Minh Commune People's Committee Bui Anh Tuan affirmed: The Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run is a traditional sports activity, contributing to promoting the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and building a healthy lifestyle in the community. Through the tournament, it is an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of solidarity, exchange and learn and select excellent athletes to participate in the final round of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run at the city level.

This year's finals have many categories: Middle and high school students, officials, civil servants, employees, workers and armed forces, and advanced athletes of the Me Linh Run Club. Athletes compete in 6 distances, from 1,000 to 2,000m, arranged on the route around the commune's central administrative square, ensuring safety and creating a vibrant cheering atmosphere for local people.

Before the official competition took place, delegates, leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Quang Minh commune and guests participated in a run around the square to encourage the local mass sports movement.

Previously, Quang Minh commune had carefully prepared everything from training, athlete selection, ensuring facilities to medical work, security and order. More than 300 athletes were carefully selected from secondary schools, high schools, villages, unions, armed forces and Me Linh Run Club to participate in the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025 in Quang Minh commune. All were required to practice regularly, meet health standards and run within the common time limit.

The 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace 2025 is not only a sports playground, but also an opportunity to widely promote the benefits of physical exercise, improve health for studying, working, and defending the Fatherland; at the same time, select outstanding athletes representing Quang Minh commune to participate in the upcoming city-level final.

As a result, the first individual prizes went to the following athletes: Nguyen Thi Thanh (female - Kim Hoa Secondary School), Trinh Duy (male - Chi Dong Secondary School), Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen (female - Quang Minh High School), Ha An Khanh (male - Quang Minh High School), Bui Thi Huong (Commune Farmers' Association), Nguyen Viet Ba An (Commune Youth Union). The Director of the Quang Minh Commune Culture - Information and Sports Center said that after this competition, the Organizing Committee will select the 24 best athletes in the competition categories to practice and represent the commune to participate in the final round of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace in 2025.
