Agricultural cooperatives clearly demonstrate their suitability and bring high socio-economic efficiency. Because agricultural cooperation creates concentrated production areas, large model fields, large raw material areas, which are important bases for bringing scientific and technical advances into production according to technological processes, standardizing product quality criteria. At the same time, creating raw material areas and large quantities of goods for many partners in the market. Most cooperatives in the province have played a linking role in production and consumption of products for members, actively participating in the product value chain, contributing to the economic transformation and restructuring according to the general direction of the province, solving jobs for workers, increasing income, reducing poverty, ensuring social security, especially in the agricultural and rural areas.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai visited the province's OCOP products.
Not stopping at linking and consuming products, many cooperatives also devote resources to investing in processing agricultural products. Focusing on building products that meet OCOP standards to expand product development, increase the value of agricultural products, create more jobs and income for members.
Currently, Ca Mau has 51 cooperatives with 123 products, finished products from rice, shrimp, other aquatic products, salt... with packaging and labels meeting OCOP standards (of which: 98 products are recognized as 3-star OCOP products, 25 products are OCOP 4-star). By participating and achieving OCOP certification, the products produced by cooperatives have changed significantly.
OCOP products of cooperatives have been connected with many consumption channels inside and outside the province.
Mr. Trinh Dat Duy, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Vinh Thanh Cooperative, Vinh Hau Commune, commented: "After being recognized as OCOP, the Cooperative's products have more and more stable orders. Currently, to ensure supply, especially during holidays and Tet, Cooperative members have to work twice as hard. Therefore, the income of the Cooperative as well as its members has increased significantly."
Mr. Tran Trung Hieu, Director of Ba Men Cooperative, An Trach Commune, said: "Developing OCOP products will pave the way for the cooperative to develop better. Because it can create more jobs for members, increase income, and enhance the value of the cooperative's own products."

Developing OCOP products is one of the important goals that the Provincial Cooperative Union is aiming for. Therefore, in recent times, the Cooperative Union has always created the best conditions and support for cooperatives.
Mr. Nguyen Van Vu, Chairman of the Cooperative Union, said: "Not only providing loan support for economic development, the Union always accompanies and creates conditions for cooperatives to develop OCOP products. Because this development will create double benefits for cooperatives. At the same time, it can help cooperatives attract more members and expand production and business. Currently, some cooperatives are taking advantage of the support of the Union and localities to register to develop OCOP products. In parallel with developing new OCOP products, the Union also encourages and supports cooperatives to upgrade their products to 4 stars to be able to reach further in the market."
Vegetable products, the strength of many cooperatives, are also being focused on building OCOP standards.
Although the number of cooperatives participating in the development of OCOP products is still not really large, and the products that meet OCOP standards are also quite few. However, the results from the development of OCOP products by cooperatives in recent years will be a solid foundation and an important goal for other cooperatives to develop and replicate this approach.
In reality, cooperatives are not only a bridge connecting farmers with businesses, connecting farmers with farmers to develop the agricultural economy, but also become the direct entity distributing agricultural products to consumers nationwide, and further exporting.
