Israel arrests US journalist, attacks two Al-Jazeera journalists

His phone was confiscated and police later unlocked it during questioning. He was detained with several other journalists for four days earlier this week and was assaulted during his detention. Israel has now said it has released the American journalist.

Also this week, two Al-Jazeera reporters were seriously injured while working in Gaza. Specifically, on October 9, photojournalist Fadi Alwahdi, 24, was shot in the neck by an Israeli sniper while filming the siege of the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza for Al-Jazeera.

More than 130 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since the conflict began. At least 33 of them were targeted while on the job.
