On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam News Agency (Vietnam News Agency, September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025), journalist Luis Manuel Arce Isaac - veteran war correspondent of the Latin American news agency Prensa Latina, shared profound assessments of the role and position of Vietnam News Agency throughout its formation and development.
In an interview with a reporter from the Vietnam News Agency in Havana, Mr. Luis Manuel Arce Isaac expressed his admiration for the fact that the Vietnam News Agency has now become one of the world's leading advanced and modern news agencies. Comparing with the years of working with his colleagues from the Vietnam News Agency during the war, he said he really hopes to be able to witness that change visually.
According to him, the remarkable growth of the team of reporters, especially the young journalists of Vietnam News Agency today, is what makes former war reporters like him feel impressed and proud.
Journalist Luis Manuel Arce Isaac affirmed that the historical role of the Vietnam News Agency deserves to be recognized and honored throughout its development and will continue to be affirmed in the future. According to him, the Vietnam News Agency is an essential information tool, helping the world to understand in a reliable way the journey that Vietnam has undergone since the last century.
He said that while during the years of fighting for independence, the Vietnam News Agency was once “a small window opening to the world,” today, this press agency has become “a large space” connecting Vietnam with all continents and is followed from all over the world. This is the remarkable development that the Vietnam News Agency has achieved through its constant efforts, dedication, and effective information policies, honestly reflecting domestic reality as well as international issues.
Journalist Luis Manuel Arce Isaac highly appreciated the foreign information strategy and the extensive cooperation relationship of Vietnam News Agency with press agencies around the world. According to him, the contracts and cooperation agreements that Vietnam News Agency signed with news agencies on all continents, including Cuba, are a testament to the prestige, mutual respect and spirit of sustainable cooperation.
Referring to the cooperative relationship between Vietnam News Agency and Prensa Latina News Agency, journalist Luis Manuel Arce Isaac said that this is a beautiful symbol of solidarity and friendship between revolutionary journalists and patriots.
